Do it!

Have you ever wanted to be grunge? Like Kurt? Or Courtney? Or any grunge person you know? Here's a step by step guide for boys and girls!

One who wears ripped jeans they bought ripped, Wears flannel that is actually just a plad shirt, and thinks Nirvana is the only grunge band.

Jeans are very important to grunge. Ripping your jeans is acceptable, but not too much! (Ripping them too much will make you look dumb.) But if you do, consider wearing pajama pants under it, to keep from freezing. You can also patch your jeans.

Listen to grunge music!

Mark Arm, from the band MudhoneyAbove-ground grunge includes the big four:

Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice In Chains. Original, more underground bands include Mother Love Bone, Love Battery, Mad Season, Green River, Screaming Trees, Temple of the Dog, Mudhoney, etc. (Knowing underground bands is a must!)

Buying from thrift stores like value village and Good Will is much better than buying expensive, brand-name clothing. If you buy pre-ripped jeans for seventy dollars and call yourself grunge, you're a poser.

Buy Grunge t-shirts with bands like Soundgarden and Nirvana on them.

If you want to dye your hair, dye it with Kool-Aid.

Flannel shirts are acceptable. Especially if your sleeve is ripped a bit but not all the way around.

Big sunglasses such as the ones Kurt (Jackie O) wears are cool, or the black ones Layne Staley (Ray-Ban Predator 2) wears in the video for "Would?".

Blog Templatehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16355834135018483822noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7601869224642113641.post-72489355840994708682009-07-30T09:20:00.000-07:002009-07-31T09:46:39.891-07:00Edit RSS ButtonTo edit your RSS button, go to Layout-Edit HTML.

Find following codes :

<a href='http://grungeblogtemplates.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default' target='_blank'> Post <a href='http://grungeblogtemplates.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default' target='_blank'> Comments

Change http://grungeblogtemplates.blogspot.com with your blog url.Blog Templatehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16355834135018483822noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7601869224642113641.post-42478423793799546342009-07-30T09:15:00.000-07:002009-07-30T09:18:58.480-07:00Edit Horizontal Menu LinksTo edit your link at horizontal menu bar, its easy, just go to Layout-Edit HTML.

Find codes below and edit :

home

<a href='http://blog-howtotricks.blogspot.com/'>Blogger Tricks

<a href='http://www.forfreebloggertemplates.com/'>download template

<a href='#'>contact us

<a href='#'>edit link

Change red text with your link, and blue text with your anchor textBlog Templatehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16355834135018483822noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7601869224642113641.post-1991250338139277712009-07-30T09:05:00.001-07:002009-07-31T09:47:45.929-07:00GRUNGE AestheticThe GRUNGE aesthetic is characterized by a layer of abrasive filth which roughens an underlying source of beauty to soften its presence and make it more palatable to a jaded audience. This applies to grunge as applied to music, type, design and fashion. True beauty can be hard to look at or listen to directly, because it has been homogenized through repetition in modern mass media.

A contrasting grunge facade can enhance the artistic experience by providing a yin to the yang of a gratingly pleasant image or tune. This differentiates grunge from punk, in that the latter solely focusses on the abrasiveness and despises the underlying elegance.Blog Templatehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16355834135018483822noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7601869224642113641.post-56227628686326917982009-07-20T00:49:00.001-07:002009-07-31T09:49:15.190-07:00CharacteristicsGrunge is generally characterized by a sludgy guitar sound that uses a high level of distortion, fuzz and feedback effects. Grunge fuses elements of hardcore punk and heavy metal, although some bands performed with more emphasis on one or the other. The music shares with punk a raw sound and similar lyrical concerns. However, it also involves much slower tempos, dissonant harmonies, and more complex instrumentation – which is reminiscent of heavy metal.

Some individuals associated with the development of grunge, including Sub Pop producer Jack Endino and the Melvins, explained grunge's incorporation of heavy rock influences such as Kiss as "musical provocation." considered these bands "cheesy" but nonetheless enjoyed them; Grunge artists Buzz Osborne of the Melvins described it as an attempt to see what ridiculous things bands could do and get away with. In the early 1990s, Nirvana's signature "stop-start" song format became a genre convention.Blog Templatehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16355834135018483822noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7601869224642113641.post-33089719713203090692009-07-19T09:50:00.000-07:002009-07-31T09:50:01.445-07:00Grunge MusicGrunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle Sound) is a subgenre of alternative rock that emerged during the mid-1980s in the American state of Washington, particularly in the Seattle area. Inspired by hardcore punk, heavy metal and indie rock, grunge is generally characterized by heavily distorted electric guitars, contrasting song dynamics, and apathetic or angst-filled lyrics. The grunge aesthetic is stripped-down compared to other forms of rock music, and many grunge musicians were noted for their unkempt appearances and rejection of theatrics.

The early grunge movement coalesced around Seattle independent record label Sub Pop in the late 1980s. Grunge became commercially successful in the first half of the 1990s, due mainly to the release of Nirvana's Nevermind and Pearl Jam's Ten. The success of these bands boosted the popularity of alternative rock and made grunge the most popular form of hard rock music at the time. However, many grunge bands were uncomfortable with this popularity. Although most grunge bands had disbanded or faded from view by the late 1990s, their influence continues to impact modern rock music.Blog Templatehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16355834135018483822noreply@blogger.com0
